Guiding Principles
Friends School in Detroit is guided by Quaker values and a commitment to nonviolence. The school curriculum stresses academic excellence, creative problem solving, and respect for the individual and the community. Friends School offers the children of our diverse society the opportunity to develop responsibility, self-esteem and self-discipline in a nurturing, cooperative environment.
 
Together with the family, we help children grow intellectually, socially and spiritually. All activities, academic or extracurricular, at Friends School in Detroit are non-denominational.
